Come back Hayes.

What can I say...we're bummed. Hayes had to go home yesterday because football was starting. We are sad that he left. He was a HUGE help. He would watch the boys when they were outside so they wouldn't run in the street. He would play with them a lot. Hayes has tons of friends here. He even got a girlfriend while here. (they broke up, I think). I had no idea how much drama could come with an 11 year old. It was awesome.

There are 11 kids on our little street ranging between ages 2 - 12. With that many kids comes a lot of "stuff". Games galore, hurt feelings, talking - TONS of talking, break-ups, water fights, leaving people out, great games of tag, hide-n-seek, banning people from each other's property, swim parties, Popsicles, endless hours of outdoor play, basketball, chalk drawings, sweating, food, etc. It was super fun. Hayes loved it. The neighbor kids loved it. I loved it. So, we are sad that Hayes had to go home but at least we get to go visit next week for a wedding. Good times ahead. Thanks Hayes for all your help, come back soon.Hayes and Allison - if anybody around here ever needs a babysitter...Allison is super fantastic - seriously! (the girlfriend/boyfriend for a few weeks...ah, young love :))

A girl at church was confused as to who Hayes belonged to. Her mom told her that it was Krista Gage's brother and he was here to visit. The little girl (who is like 10, I think) looked at Hayes. Then looked at me. Then looked at Hayes again. She turned to her mom and said "Hayes' sister is old." What the heck? Of all the differences and things that she could have noticed that's the one she noticed the most....how old I am.

Also, three nights in a row when Hayes was here Taegen peed the bed. He hasn't done this for a LONG time. After the third night I asked him what was going on. He told me that he thinks Hayes came in his bed with him and peed and then got back out of his bed. Nice try Mr. but unfortunately, Hayes was not wet when he woke up. Another time Taegen could not get his pants to stay up. He came out to me to ask me for help and he was wearing Hayes' shorts. What a funny little boy.
