Final Camping Trip

We wanted to take one more camping trip before it got too cold. Ryan took off Friday from work so Thursday night we headed out. We went with our good friends Chadd and Kelli. We got there Thursday and got camp set up. Got the fire going. Made and ate smore's with Reese's Peanut Butter cups instead of plain ole' chocolate. Then it started raining. Luckily, we had everything set up so we just said good night and climbed into our warm sleeping bags. It rained off and on all night long. Taegen and Kyler slept pretty good. I am always amazed at how Kyler can move when he's sleeping. He started out in his sleeping bag, by mid-night he was out of his bag and had done a 180, by morning he was on the opposite side of me upside down. Seriously, he's a mover. Friday was GREAT. Seriously, I LOVE camping for two nights instead of one. We made a nice breakfast and then went on a 2 mile hike to some caves that were closed. Taegen is 175% boy. He climbs, jumps, throws rocks, looks for bugs, climbs more, rolls in dirt. He LOVED hiking and camping. We didn't have to hold him once on the 2 mile hike. Kyler and Strider definitely love getting in the dirt and stuff but they prefer to be held when walking. Then in the afternoon we went on another little hike to a small waterfall. Then had dutch over dinner and dessert. DELICIOUS!!! After the kids went to bed, the "adults" stayed up and chatted around the fire for like 3 hours. It was awesome. We did have two raccoons that liked our camp and we had to "chase" them away like 5,983,769,912,837 times. Kelli and I scared ourselves while walking to the bathroom. "IT" was a scary movie back in the day. Stupid clowns!

Anyways, Saturday morning we got up and got all ready to go only to find that our van's battery had died (for the second time this trip). Dang battery. After waiting over an hour for the ranger people to come help us, we were off. It was indeed a VERY successful, fun camping trip. Let's do it again...

Taegen is such a protector of Strider and Kyler. They were on a little ledge here (I am standing up, you'll notice my hat head in the bottom corner. Because they were high, Taegen had to hold onto Strider and Kyler so they wouldn't fall. Such a good big brother.
